Dr. rer. nat. Ursula Kaufmann

German Patent Attorney · European Patent Attorney · Representative (UPC)

Dr. Ursula Kaufmann is a German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, as well as a European Trademark and Design Attorney. She holds a scientific degree with a doctorate in physics and brings many years of experience from both industrial research and intellectual property law.

Her main focus lies in patent prosecution. She supports inventions through all stages of filing and examination – from drafting technical IP rights and designing strategic filing structures to obtaining patents before national and international offices. Her technical practice focuses in particular on aerospace engineering, computer systems, energy technology, and automation and control systems. She regularly handles patent applications relating to physical measurement methods, optoelectronic components, 3D printing processes, machine processing units, and electrochemical energy systems.

In addition to prosecution work, she is also active in contentious proceedings. As a patent attorney and a qualified representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC), she is authorized to appear before the UPC and regularly represents clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). Her approach is characterized by technical insight, legal precision, and strategic foresight.

With her broad experience, she supports the development and protection of effective IP strategies – both nationally and internationally.
